Razer BlackShark V3 Pro Wireless FPS Gaming Headset Review for Pros

작성자 olreview · 2026-03-18

This review was written after receiving the product from the manufacturer.

Razer, a global gaming gear specialist brand, not only boasts a wide range of mice and keyboards but also a diverse headset lineup, from entry-level to premium wireless models. While the Kraken series is designed for versatile entertainment, the Barracuda series serves as a strong all-rounder, bridging lifestyle and gaming, and the BlackShark series stands as the flagship line, meticulously crafted for esports and competitive gaming.

Among these, the BlackShark V3 lineup, a 3rd-generation model newly introduced in 2025, is a significantly upgraded product family that actively incorporated feedback from users and reviewers regarding shortcomings in the previous V2 series. The BlackShark V3 lineup is divided into the wired-based Standard V3, the wireless-focused V3 HyperSpeed, and the top-tier V3 Pro, which integrates all features.

The V3 Pro is primarily differentiated from its lower-tier models by three key features: First, it’s the first in the series to feature hybrid ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). Second, it can simultaneously output 2.4GHz HyperSpeed wireless and Bluetooth, allowing users to handle game audio, voice chat, and music listening all at once. Third, it is equipped with a detachable HyperClear 12mm wideband microphone, enabling a wider frequency range and clearer voice transmission compared to the previous 9mm model.

Last year, I introduced you to the BlackShark V2 Pro for PlayStation model, which was quite satisfying in terms of audio quality and fit back then. This time, we’ll be taking a look at the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, a gaming headset for true professionals that can be used universally with PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and smartphones.

Looking at the contents, inside the box, you’ll find the BlackShark V3 Pro headset itself, the Razer HyperSpeed 2nd Gen wireless dongle, a detachable microphone, a USB-C charging cable, and a 3.5mm audio cable. The USB-C cable is a durable braided type, approximately 1.5m long, and thanks to the included 3.5mm cable, you can switch to a wired connection immediately if the battery runs out.

What’s particularly noteworthy is the Razer 2nd Gen HyperSpeed wireless dongle; compared to its predecessor, latency has been reduced to 10ms. Considering that most gaming headsets have latency levels of 15-30ms, this puts it among the fastest wireless gaming headsets currently available.

Appearance and Features

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro immediately catches the eye with its unique appearance, which is synonymous with the BlackShark series. Its design evokes an aviation headset worn by military helicopter pilots, and the silhouette created by the combination of its wire-frame yokes and oval earcups remains impressive. Overall, the matte black color scheme, complemented by a subtle Razer logo, exudes a premium yet understated vibe.

Looking at the material composition, the earcup housings are plastic, but the finish is clean, and the yokes use steel wire for excellent durability.

The top of the headband is made of leatherette with elaborate stitching, which definitely gives a luxurious feel when touched.

Looking at the left earcup of the headset, a textured volume knob is located at the top. This knob provides clear tactile steps when turned with a fingertip, which is great for intuitively adjusting the volume even during gaming. Below it, you’ll find a detachable microphone port, a mute button, a power button, and a USB-C charging port. The layout, with main controls concentrated on the left, is similar to its predecessor, but the button arrangement feels more streamlined.

On the right earcup, the profile button allows you to switch between Bluetooth, HyperSpeed, and simultaneous output modes with a double-tap. The ANC button cycles through three modes: full noise cancellation, ambient (external sound passthrough), and OFF. The most noticeable feature is the multi-function roller. This roller can be used to adjust game/chat balance, microphone sidetone level, and even Razer’s newly added footstep volume scaling feature.

To elaborate further on the ANC button, the V3 Pro is equipped with hybrid ANC for the first time in the series. It actively blocks external noise using four microphones, effectively filtering out environmental noise such as fan sounds or surrounding conversations.

The headband features thick memory foam on the inside, reducing pressure when worn on the head.

The ear cushions are made from a dual-layer FlowKnit memory foam material, providing excellent breathability that allows heat to dissipate easily even during extended wear. The considerable thickness of the cushions offers a fit that fully envelops the ears, noticeably reducing any feeling of sweat buildup.

The housing allows for length adjustment via a sliding mechanism, and the joint arm supports approximately 15 degrees of rotation and tilting. While ear cup rotation was minimal in the previous model, the V3 Pro’s added swivel function enables a more snug fit that conforms better to the user’s ear angle.

The actual measured weight is approximately 367g without the microphone and about 382g with the microphone. While slightly heavier than the standard V3 model, this is reasonable given the addition of the ANC module and battery. Furthermore, the well-balanced design ensures the weight does not feel overly burdensome.

The Razer™ TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50mm driver utilizes a biocellulose diaphragm and features a triple-chamber structure that allows for independent tuning of high, mid, and low frequencies. Compared to the previous model, a new plug has been added inside the driver, reducing distortion by half. Furthermore, the magnet size has been increased by 75%, strengthening the magnetic field and significantly improving the separation across different frequency ranges. The driver itself is also positioned at a slight angle towards the ear, meticulously designed to deliver sound naturally.

The detachable Razer™ HyperClear 12mm wideband microphone has significantly improved sound pickup performance, thanks to its increased size from the predecessor’s 9mm. Its unidirectional pickup pattern allows it to focus on the user’s voice while effectively filtering out ambient noise.

Supporting full-band frequency response, it delivers voice quality that is distinctly superior to typical gaming headset microphones. Being detachable, you can remove it when not in use to maintain a clean aesthetic.

The plates on the housing can be easily attached and detached magnetically, suggesting that separate replacement plates will likely be sold. A battery is located inside the right housing, allowing for replacement if its performance degrades in the future.

The battery charges via USB-C and provides up to 70 hours of use when fully charged (based on PC usage). Assuming 4-5 hours of daily use, this means you can use it for over two weeks without needing to charge, so battery concerns are virtually nonexistent. Furthermore, it supports fast charging, allowing up to 6 hours of use with just a 15-minute charge, making it sufficient to plug in briefly before starting a game.

Connection and Software

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro supports a total of four connection methods: HyperSpeed Wireless (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C wired, and 3.5mm analog wired.

Among these, the most impressive feature is the simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth output support. For example, you can receive game audio from your PC via the HyperSpeed dongle while simultaneously connecting your smartphone via Bluetooth to listen to Discord voice chat or music streaming. You can play background music via Bluetooth while voice chatting with party members, or instantly answer calls if they come in during a game.

Razer Synapse 4 Software

With the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro, you can adjust various detailed settings using the Razer Synapse 4 software in a PC environment. Synapse 4 is Razer’s integrated device management software, allowing for detailed customization of headsets, just like mice or keyboards.

In the sound menu, users can directly set up a 10-band equalizer. Default, Game, Movie, Music, and Esports presets are provided as standard, and in addition, you can download and use game-specific EQ presets personally tuned by Razer’s esports athletes.

Presets optimized for major FPS titles such as Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Call of Duty are available, making them especially useful for those who enjoy competitive gaming. Up to 9 configured profiles can be saved to the headset’s onboard memory, so they can be applied directly even in console environments, not just on PC.

In the Enhancement menu, you can configure four core features. Ultra-low Latency mode is a setting that ensures 10ms latency when connected via HyperSpeed, and Active Noise Cancellation can be adjusted across four intensity levels or switched to Ambient mode. Incoming Call Audio Mix is a feature that adjusts the balance between game audio and call audio when simultaneously connected via Bluetooth, and Audio Enhancement allows you to apply additional corrections such as Bass Boost or Sound Normalization.

In the Microphone menu, you can adjust the input volume as well as correct the tone using a dedicated microphone equalizer. Enabling Microphone Monitoring (Sidetone) allows you to monitor your own voice in real-time and check its volume level, while Microphone Enhancement provides additional features like Noise Gate and Voice Clarity improvement.

The Power menu allows you to set an auto power-off timer or check the battery status.

It also supports Razer THX Spatial Audio. Within the THX Spatial Audio menu in Synapse 4, you can activate 7.1.4 surround sound. The Demo menu allows you to test sounds from various directions, providing a direct experience of spatial awareness. This feature is significantly helpful in games for identifying the direction of enemy footsteps or the location of gunshots.

Razer Audio App

While Synapse 4 is PC-exclusive, the Razer Audio app is a mobile-exclusive app that allows you to easily set up your headset on your smartphone. It supports both iOS and Android, and once installed, you can use it immediately by connecting your headset via Bluetooth.

Similar to Synapse, you can set EQ profiles and remap button functions, which is very convenient. For those who primarily use consoles or smartphones, most settings can be completed with just the Razer Audio app, even without a PC.

Sound Test

Game Sound

The sound test was conducted after setting the preset to ‘Game’ in Synapse 4. Thanks to the triple-chamber design of the TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50mm drivers, low-frequency explosion effects, mid-range voice dialogues, and high-frequency metallic sound effects are all distinctly separated and sound clean. Especially when THX Spatial Audio is activated, the direction of enemy approach can be distinguished with remarkable accuracy.

Music Sound

For the music test, after switching the preset to ‘Music’, I listened to various genres. The rich bass characteristic of biocellulose drivers was impressive, and the balance, where mids and highs weren’t overwhelmed, was excellent. In vocal-centric tracks, vocals felt clear and forward, while instrument separation remained distinct. Of course, direct comparison with dedicated music headphones might reveal differences in soundstage depth, but within the gaming headset category, the music playback quality is quite satisfactory.

Movie Sound Test

For the movie sound test, after switching the preset to ‘Movie’, I proceeded by dividing it into two modes: stereo mode and THX Spatial Audio virtual surround mode.

First, in stereo mode, explosions and impact sounds delivered a powerful punch thanks to the tight bass unique to biocellulose, without overwhelming the mid-to-high frequencies. The impressive balance ensured that dialogue remained clear even amidst intense sound effects.

Turning on THX Spatial Audio virtual surround makes a significant difference. Even in the same scene, the sound felt like it was enveloping my head, adding a sense of three-dimensionality, making the virtual surround effect unmistakably clear.

Usage Review

I actually used the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro as my main Razer headset for about two weeks. The first thing I noticed was the comfort. The dual FlowKnit memory foam ear cushions gently encased my ears and offered excellent breathability, resulting in almost no discomfort even after 3-4 hours of continuous wear. The 15-degree swivel joint also ensured the earcups naturally conformed to the angle of my ears, which was very satisfactory.

In terms of audio quality, it was more than sufficient for both gaming and music listening. Particularly, the simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth output feature is genuinely convenient for daily use, allowing you to listen to music on your smartphone while gaming or answer calls instantly. The ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) is also quite practical for a gaming headset, effectively blocking out external noise when you need to concentrate. Another advantage is the 70-hour battery life, which means you barely have to worry about charging.

Concluding the Review

The Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is a product that precisely addresses and improves upon the shortcomings of its predecessor. It includes all the features one would expect from a premium gaming wireless headset: the series’ first hybrid ANC, 10ms ultra-low latency HyperSpeed Gen 2 wireless, simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth output, enhanced audio quality from TriForce Bio-Cellulose 50mm drivers, and even a 12mm wideband microphone.

The wearing comfort is excellent even during long sessions, thanks to the dual FlowKnit memory foam and 15-degree swivel joints. Coupled with a generous 70-hour battery life and 15-minute fast charging, it leaves nothing to be desired in terms of practical user convenience.

The fact that it can be used all-purpose with a single headset across PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and smartphones is also a major attraction. If you enjoy FPS games or use various multi-devices, the BlackShark V3 Pro will likely be a very satisfying choice.
