SoundPeats is an audio brand that started in China in 2010 and is currently loved by consumers worldwide. They offer a wide range of products, from entry-level to flagship models, all available at reasonable prices.

I’ve personally used the OPERA and Capsule3 Pro+, and both supported the LDAC codec and were Hi-Res certified, which left me highly satisfied. Their excellent sound quality for the price has kept me using them for a long time.

SoundPeats has now launched the H3, a flagship model that follows in the footsteps of the H1 and OPERA. With its triple-driver configuration and support for aptX Lossless, it garnered significant anticipation even before its release. From now on, I’ll provide a detailed look based on my personal experience using it.

The ear tips come in a total of 5 sizes. While most products typically offer only 3-4 sizes, the availability of various sizes from XS to XL was a huge plus, allowing users to find the perfect fit for their ears.
Appearance and Features

The H3’s charging case features a black-finished base encircled by a gold aluminum trim, giving it a premium feel. The lid is made of translucent dark plastic, allowing a subtle glimpse of the earbuds inside.

Opening the case reveals a plate engraved with the phrase “Hear The Difference,” alongside a trim that simulates a leather texture.

On the back, there’s a button for factory reset and manual pairing. The USB Type-C port is located at the bottom of the case, also framed by a gold trim.
In terms of battery performance, the case alone provides up to 30 hours of additional playback, totaling 37 hours when combined with the earbuds. It also supports fast charging, offering approximately 2 hours of use with just a 10-minute charge.

The earbuds feature a transparent design that reveals their internal structure, incorporating IML (In-Mold Labeling) technology and premium PC material to evoke a sense of luxury craftsmanship. The brand logo is half-engraved in gold foil on the housing plate, definitely giving it a more sophisticated feel compared to previous models.

The H3 is equipped with the Qualcomm QCC3091 chipset and supports Snapdragon Sound. It uses Bluetooth 5.4 and supports SBC, AAC, LDAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, and even aptX Lossless codecs. Notably, LDAC and aptX Lossless are lossless codecs capable of reproducing CD-quality high-resolution audio in a wireless environment, earning the H3 Hi-Res certification.

The H3 features a hybrid ANC system with a total of 6 microphones. Each earbud has 3 microphones: two external microphones use beamforming technology to separate voices from ambient noise, while one internal microphone captures pure vibrations from within the ear.

The most significant feature of the H3 is its triple-driver configuration. It adopts a 1DD+2BA high-end Hi-Fi structure, featuring one 12mm polymer diaphragm dynamic driver and two dual balanced armature (BA) drivers. The 12mm dynamic driver primarily handles bass reproduction, while the dual BA drivers manage the mid-to-high frequencies, allowing for an overall balanced sound.

The nozzle part is made of anodized aluminum, which helps enhance treble clarity, and features a metal grille, showing attention to detail.

Each earbud weighs a mere 6g, making them very light and comfortable for long hours of wear. The total weight, including the case, is around 54g, making them easy to carry. On their own, the earbuds can last up to 7 hours with ANC off, and approximately 4-5 hours with ANC on. Including the case, the total playback time is 37 hours.
Dedicated Application

SoundPeats provides a dedicated app for the H3. This app allows integrated management of various SoundPeats products, and by selecting and connecting the H3, detailed settings can be adjusted.

Upon accessing the app, you can check the real-time battery status of both the earbuds and the case, and utilize various functions such as noise-canceling modes, EQ settings, fit tests, and suitability checks.
The H3 offers high-end active noise cancellation of up to 55dB. The app allows you to select from 4 ANC modes.

Automatic Noise Reduction automatically detects ambient conditions to provide optimal noise-canceling performance. Indoor Mode is optimized for indoor environments like offices or cafes, Outdoor Mode is suitable for outdoor activities, and Transport Mode is effective when using public transportation like subways or buses.
One of the most powerful features of the SoundPeats app is its 9-band equalizer. It comes with 9 preset EQs, allowing you to select optimized sound profiles for various uses such as music, movies, and games.
The app also offers an Adaptive EQ feature, which automatically generates a personalized sound profile by testing the user’s hearing characteristics and earbud fit.

Other features include an earbud fit test that automatically detects if the earbuds are properly seated in your ears and suggests the optimal fit, dual-device connection allowing simultaneous connection to two devices, and a game mode that resolves audio sync issues during gaming or video watching with ultra-low latency of 60ms.
Sound Test

The sound of the SoundPeats H3 is likely one of the best among wireless earbuds in its price range. The triple-driver configuration delivers clear and immersive sound, with a wide dynamic range that provides a distinct contrast between quiet and loud passages.
The bass from the 12mm dynamic driver is quite satisfying, overcoming the limitations of typical wireless earbuds’ bass response. I could definitely feel the difference when listening to hip-hop or dance music.
Thanks to the dual BA drivers, the mid-range has remarkably high resolution, delicately conveying vocal details and emotional expression, and naturally reproducing the texture of acoustic instruments.
The anodized aluminum nozzle is said to enhance treble clarity, and perhaps because of this, even casually listened K-pop songs reproduce instrument sounds like hi-hats and cymbals, sound effects, and electronic tones very well.

The noise-canceling performance of the SoundPeats H3 is quite excellent, effectively reducing subway noise, people’s conversations, and keyboard typing sounds.
A noise-canceling test was conducted by simulating an 80dBA subway noise environment. A significant portion of the noise, including subway sounds and in-car announcements, was blocked.
Usage Review

I’ve used the SoundPeats H3 in various situations: commuting, working in the office, and listening to music or watching Netflix at home. Personally, I found it to be a highly satisfying product.

Its ergonomic design ensures a stable fit in the ears, and its lightweight nature causes no discomfort even during extended use. While I didn’t test it during running, it remained securely in place without falling out even when rushing on my commute.

Above all, sound quality is paramount for earphones. While my current main earphones are priced in the 300,000 KRW range, putting them in a different class, the H3 holds its own in terms of sound quality. I use Bugs high-quality playback, and when set to FLAC high-res, the balanced sound and excellent resolution truly enhance the listening experience.

However, one regrettable point is the app’s connection issues. I’ve mentioned this in previous reviews, and it seems to still be unresolved. While I’m satisfied with the features the app provides, I hope this persistent connection problem is addressed soon.
Concluding the Review

The SoundPeats H3 goes beyond simply offering good value for money; it delivers performance capable of satisfying Hi-Fi users. Thanks to the excellent resolution provided by its triple drivers, this product has received Hi-Res certification. As I mentioned before, in terms of sound quality, it absolutely holds its own even when compared to products in the 300,000 KRW price range.
Personally, I’m also very satisfied with the earbud design. While the OPERA felt a bit much, the H3’s translucent design has a unique yet luxurious appeal.
If you’re looking to experience flagship earbud sound quality in the 100,000 KRW price range, the SoundPeats H3 is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
