Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mouse: 2-Week Review & Recommendation

작성자 olreview · 2026-04-22

In my previous unboxing review, I briefly introduced my first impressions of the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED. This time, I’d like to elaborate more specifically on what I felt after using it myself for two weeks.

The Logitech G502 X series is a refreshed version of the G502, a mouse that has held the title of a legend in the gaming mouse world among gamers for many years. While new versions of highly popular predecessors often receive mixed reactions, the G502 X LIGHTSPEED garnered attention from gamers even before its release, thanks to significant upgrades to its switches and sensor.

Over these two weeks, I alternated between playing Battlegrounds and Diablo 4, experimenting with various key mappings using the G HUB software, and the benefits of having 13 buttons were truly distinct.

Product Features

Taking another brief look at the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED’s features, its exterior is based on a traditional right-handed ergonomic design. Thanks to the wide support structure on the left side of the mouse for resting the thumb and the convexly raised palm rest at the back, the entire hand is naturally cradled.

Weighing 102g, it’s definitely on the heavier side compared to the ultra-light 60g-class mice popular these days. However, this weight actually gave a sense of stable aim, and my hand didn’t get tired easily even when playing Battlegrounds. The PTFE feet on the bottom of the mouse glide very smoothly over the pad, and the impressive control allowed it to stop precisely as intended, without any snagging.

The sensor features Logitech’s proprietary HERO 25K technology. It can be finely adjusted from 100 DPI up to 25,600 DPI, and since the cursor moves without any smoothing, filtering, or acceleration, it accurately reflects the mouse’s movement on screen.

The button layout is also generous. There are a total of 13 buttons, with two side buttons and a DPI shift button located just on the thumb side.

Below the scroll wheel, there are separate buttons for DPI switching and scroll mode switching. Initially, I was worried that having so many buttons might be confusing, but after using it, my hand quickly memorized them, and I experienced no inconvenience at all.

The G502 X LIGHTSPEED features a classic ergonomic design with a high back and a wide thumb rest, making it optimized for palm grip. For those with larger hands, a claw grip isn’t a bad option either, as the numerous buttons allow fingers to rest naturally on them. However, a fingertip grip is not recommended due to the mouse’s size and weight (102g), which could cause strain on the fingers during extended use. In conclusion, a palm grip is the most suitable way to hold this mouse, aligning best with its design intent and providing the most stable control during long gaming sessions.

The switches are LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches, combining the tactile feedback of traditional mechanical switches with the rapid response of optical switches. The click feel is very distinct and firm, which allowed me to precisely time my clicks during PUBG engagements.

Finally, the PTFE feet applied to the bottom of the mouse glide very smoothly over the pad. I was impressed by the sense of control, allowing the mouse to stop precisely as I intended without any drag.

G HUB Software

To utilize all the features of the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED, G HUB is essential. Upon initial installation and launch, it automatically recognizes connected devices, and the mouse image immediately appears on the main screen.

Here, you can largely customize two things: sensitivity (DPI) settings and button assignments.

In the sensitivity settings, you can freely set the DPI from 100 to 25,600 and store up to five DPI presets. By pressing the DPI switch button on top of the mouse, you can quickly cycle through the saved presets, allowing you to instantly adjust sensitivity according to the game situation.

In the button assignment menu, you can freely map desired functions to each of the 13 buttons. The options are very diverse, including basic clicks, keyboard shortcuts, macros, text input, and media controls. G HUB allows you to save separate profiles for each game, and it also supports automatic profile switching when a specific game is launched.

The G502 X LIGHTSPEED features a dedicated DPI Shift button in addition to the standard DPI switch button. Located below the left thumb on the mouse, this button temporarily switches to a pre-assigned DPI only while it’s held down, and immediately reverts to the original sensitivity the moment you release it.

When playing PUBG, you might typically move quickly with 800-1200 DPI, but pressing the DPI Shift button the moment you scope in switches to a lower sensitivity, like 400 DPI, making precise aiming much easier. Releasing the button immediately returns to the original sensitivity, ensuring your gameplay flow remains uninterrupted.

By utilizing the G-Shift feature, you can assign a second function to the same button. For instance, if you’ve mapped ‘throw grenade’ to side button 1 as its default function, you can set it so that when you press the same button while holding the G-Shift button, ‘use bandage’ is executed. Since a completely different function is performed when the G-Shift button is held down, the number of usable hotkeys effectively more than doubles.

Review

The first thing I noticed while using the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED in Battlegrounds was that despite being wireless, there was absolutely no lag. Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless technology is a proven technology for its responsiveness, even used in esports, and it was virtually indistinguishable from a wired connection in practice.

Before gameplay, I set up the mapping. I assigned DPI changes to the DPI shift button, and instead, I remapped the DPI change button at the top to ‘throw grenade’ and ‘heal’.

In actual gameplay, I could quickly switch to throwing grenades and easily perform various actions without having to press keyboard shortcuts.

The 100g weight didn’t feel heavy; instead, this weight provided a stable feeling for aiming. The HERO 25K sensor’s tracking remained stable even when I had to quickly move the aim, and even during fine aiming, there was no sensation of the sensor correcting or pulling anything, which built confidence.

In other games like MMORPGs such as Lost Ark, or the recently released Crimson Desert, the numerous buttons and G-Shift function of the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED truly shine. Because holding down the G-Shift button allows it to perform entirely different functions, the number of usable shortcuts effectively more than doubles.

Furthermore, during long gaming sessions, the smooth movement of the PTFE feet reduces strain on the wrist. Since the mouse glides smoothly without any scratching sensation on the pad, it allows for greater immersion in the game.

The battery level was such that I barely had to worry about it for two whole weeks. It can be played for up to 140 hours on a single charge, and with real-time battery monitoring in G HUB, there were no unexpected power outages.

Wrapping Up the Review

After using the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED for two weeks, I felt that this product is a wireless gaming mouse designed for gamers who want to solve everything with one device.

LIGHTSPEED wireless technology is so fast and stable that you practically can’t feel the difference from a wired connection, and the HERO 25K sensor showed consistent tracking at any speed.

In particular, the customization possibilities through G HUB significantly enhance this mouse’s versatility; if you reassign the 13 buttons to suit your playstyle and save different profiles for each game, a single mouse can handle a wide range of games, from FPS to RPGs.

If you play not only FPS games but also MMORPGs or the latest title, Crimson Desert, this product, which offers a combination of 13 buttons and G-Shift, might just be the best choice. If you play various game genres, we recommend the Logitech G502 X LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming mouse.
